In this episode, we dive into two unsettling stories that prove mystery and violence can exist worlds apart — yet feel eerily connected.
We begin in 1966 Brazil, where two electronics technicians, Manoel Pereira da Cruz and Miguel José Viana, were found dead on Morro do Vintém Hill. Their bodies were dressed in suits and raincoats, each wearing a strange lead mask designed to shield their eyes. Nearby, police discovered a notebook with cryptic instructions, including references to ingesting capsules and “protecting metals.” With no signs of violence and unanswered questions surrounding their deaths, the Led Masks Case remains one of Brazil’s most baffling unsolved mysteries. Was it a failed scientific experiment, a spiritual belief tied to radiation or communication with higher beings, or something far more sinister?
Then, we shift from the unexplained to the undeniably brutal with the story of Thomas Eugene Creech, an American serial killer whose crimes spanned decades. Already serving a life sentence, Creech murdered fellow inmate David Jensen in 1981, landing him on death row — where he would remain for over 40 years. We explore Creech’s violent past, his confessions to dozens of murders, and the psychological profile of a man who became a symbol of America’s most extreme punishment. His case forces us to confront difficult questions about justice, punishment, and whether redemption is ever possible.

The Atlanta Child Murders

Friday Dec 05, 2025

Friday Dec 05, 2025

On this episode of Lipgloss and Lobotomies, we’re putting the true crime spotlight where it always should’ve been: on the children and families at the heart of the Atlanta Child Murders. Between 1979 and 1981, dozens of Black children and young adults were taken from their communities, leaving behind heartbreak, unanswered questions, and a city forever changed.
We’re breaking it all down with our signature mix of empathy, clarity, and a little girly-pop energy—because honoring victims doesn’t mean we can’t also bring our own voice. We’ll talk about who these kids were: their dreams, their joy, their families, and the lives they should’ve been able to grow into. No sensationalizing, no glorifying the violence—just real stories, real context, and real compassion.
Get ready for thoughtful conversation, respectful storytelling, and the kind of deep-dive that hits you right in the heart… all while we keep our lip gloss shiny and our facts sharper than a cat-eye wing.

In 2008, a 34-year-old Walmart employee named Jdimytai Damour was killed when a Black Friday crowd broke through the doors before opening time. Over 2,000 shoppers surged forward, shattering the entrance. Jdimytai tried to hold the doors, but the crowd trampled him as they rushed inside.
His death led to major changes in retail crowd-control policies—but many still don’t know his name.
Today, we remember Jdimytai, a gentle giant described by family as kind, protective, and full of dreams.
